Mother-Son Camp Out 

Saturday, September 14, 2024 - September 15, 2024 | 12:00 pm - 10:00 am

The Acworth Parks, Recreation, and Community Resource Department is excited to host our annual Mother-Son Camp Out at Proctor Landing from Saturday, September 14 through Sunday, September 15. It's the perfect opportunity for moms and sons to spend quality time together in the great outdoors! Mother-Son Camp Out takes place at Proctor Landing Park, located at 5260 Proctor Landing Rd Acworth, GA 30101. 


Acworth Mimosa Festival 

Saturday, September 14, 2024 | 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm 

Featuring our favorite brunch drink, mimosas! We will also have specialty mimosa flavors, Brunch Punch, wine, seltzer and beer. Great food, live music, and college football.

This is a 21 and up event: no kids, no babies, no pets. Chairs and small bags are okay. No outside food or beverage allowed; pretzel necklaces are okay. Rain or shine event; no refunds. We will NOT have Designated Driver tickets available. Free bottled water available. Alcohol will be cut off at 4:45pm.


Concert on the Green: Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

Saturday, September 21, 2024 | 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Concert on the Green: Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month returns to Logan Farm Park on Saturday, September 21, 2024! Come out from 5-10 p.m. for great food and fantastic music while dancing the night away. There will be music and performances from 5 p.m. with a concert at 7 p.m. Bring your family, friends and neighbors as Acworth celebrates its community and culture at Logan Farm Park.


ACWORTH COMMUNITY GOLF TOURNAMENT
Date: October 15, 2024
Time: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Location: Cobblestone Golf Course, 4200 Nance Road
Fee: $125.00 per player or $500.00 per team.

Active Adults

ACWORTH ITTY BITTY BALLERS
This is a non-competitive program to help children aged three and four years-old
develop basic skills for sports programs in the future. The program gives children a
chance to explore a variety of different sports all in one program such as soccer,
baseball, basketball, and more!
Ages: 3- 4 years old
Dates: Monday, September 30 - Wednesday, October 23
Time: 4:30 p.m. – 5:15 PM; 5:30 PM – 6:15 PM
Location: Acworth Community Center
Fees: $50 (R)/ $65 (NR)
Deadline to register: Thursday, September 12 at 12:00 PM

ACWORTH YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE
The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department is pleased to announce that registration will begin for the Acworth Youth Basketball League on Monday, August 5 for residents and Monday, August 12 for non-residents! The league will be offered to participants 5- 14 years of age. Registration will end on Monday, October, 14 at 9 AM. Assessments will take place between Wednesday, October 16 and Saturday, October 19. Practices will begin the week of November 4 and games will begin Saturday, December 7. The season will end in the beginning to middle of February. All participants are required to have a birth certificate on file. If you already have a birth certificate on file from a previous season or from another program, you will not need to submit another copy.

Please either email a copy to parksbirthcertificate@acworth.org or bring a copy to our office located at 4361 Cherokee Street, Acworth, GA 30101.
You will not be able to register unless we have a birth certificate on file.

TRAIL TREKKERS
Walk and connect with this free program is designed for individuals with disabilities and their friends, family, and community members.  Immerse yourself in diverse natural surroundings and engage in conversations with fellow trekkers while creating long-lasting friendships. This program will take place at various parks and trails within Acworth Pack a lunch and picnic with us after these walks! Logistics about these walks will be sent after registration is complete.
Note: Food is not included. Attendees will need to bring their own lunch.

Community Classes

YOUTH:

  • BEGINNER BATON TWIRLING - Tuesdays 6:30p-7p (ages 8+)  Using rudimental movements, students will learn twirling and dance moves with musical routines!
  • BSD TAEKWON-DO - Tuesdays & Thursdays 3pm-4pm (ages 6+) Learn confidence, self-control, balance, and self defense.
  • LITTLE DRAGONS TAEKWON-DO - Saturdays 10:45am-11:15am (ages 4-7)  Designed to teach kids balance, hand-eye coordination, and self-control
    using traditional exercises.
  • SPECIAL WARRIORS TAEKWON-DO - Saturdays 10am-10:30am (ages
    6+)  Adapted self-defense skills for those with disabilities.

ADULTS:

  • WOMEN'S SELF-DEFENSE CLASS - (ages 16+) Learn and perform useful self-defense moves based on martial arts techniques that use your own body weight and leverage!
  • BSD TAEKWON-DO - Saturdays 8:45am-9:45am | Learn confidence, self-control, balance, and self-defense.
  • SENIOR WARRIORS - Wednesdays 10am-10:30am (ages 55+) Use traditional Korean movements to increase balance, mental focus and movement.
  • PICKLEBALL LESSONS - Wednesdays & Thursdays | For pickleball players that are just beginning to play or want to learn about this exciting sport!
  • LINE DANCING - Tuesdays 11am & 6:30pm (16+) Learn how to line dance with knowledge, technique and style all while staying fit!
