YOUTH

Winter Break: Art Explosion Camp

Date: Monday, February 17, 2025 - Friday, February 21, 2025

Daily Drop off: 7:30am - 9:00am

Camp Activity Time: 9:00am - 4:00pm

Daily Pick Up: 4:00pm - 6:00pm

Cost: $125 R/ $150 NR

Location: Acworth Community Center 4361 Cherokee Street Acworth, GA 30101

It's time to get those creative juices flowing! Our Art Explosion Camp has a full week of non-stop art experiments and activities. Each day of camp will focus on a different art medium like fabrics and dyes, paper, paint, clay and more! Prepare to roll up your sleeves and create your next masterpiece. Campers are encouraged to dress in clothing ready to get painted, stained and splattered! Fees cover the cost of all art materials, supplies and field trip admission.

Camp Acworth (Registration opens February 3, 2025, for Cobb County residents and February 10, 2025 for non-residents)

Location: Acworth Community Center and Cauble Park

Camp Acworth, established in 1999, is the home of our Summer Day Camp Program that provides a safe and active environment for children to enjoy their summer. Camp Acworth features two locations to have fun at: Lake Acworth Adventure Camp based at Cauble Park and Overlook Adventure Camp based out of the Acworth Community Center. Special Olympics Georgia Polar Plunge

Date: Saturday, February 22

Time: 9:45am - 1:00pm

Location: Cauble Park, 4425 Beach Street

Short Description: The Special Olympics Polar Plunge, hosted by the Law

Enforcement Torch Run For Georgia, will take place again at Acworth Beach at Cauble Park will return on Saturday, February 22, 2025. The purpose behind the Polar Plunge is to support and spread awareness for the 17,429 Special Olympics Georgia athletes. The Polar Plunge is the largest fundraising effort benefiting Special Olympics. Many states across the nation participate in this annual event through the efforts of their Law Enforcement Torch Run program. The Polar Plunge is an official Law Enforcement Torch Run event.

Anyone with a little guts and a warm heart wanting to support the athletes of Special Olympics Georgia is welcome to participate! Participants collect pledges from friends and family in exchange for the opportunity to jump into icy waters in the middle of winter. 

All proceeds collected by plungersย will benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Georgia. Prizes will be awarded in several categories, including best costume, highest individual fundraiser, highest team fundraiser, and many more.

Acworth Adult Basketball Winter/Spring Recreation League 2025

Date: February 24 – April 30

Time: 6 PM – 10 PM

Cost: $550/team; $70/free agent

Location: Acworth Community Center

The Recreation Division will be held in the Acworth Community Center on Mondays with start times beginning between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Teams are guaranteed 7 games plus playoffs. Teams are allowed up to 12 players on the roster. The free agent night will be in January with the exact date TBD. The deadline to register is Thursday, February 13 at 12 PM.

Acworth Adult Basketball Winter/Spring 30+ League 2025

Date: February 24 – April 30

Time: 6 PM – 10 PM

Cost: $550/team; $70/free agent

Location: Acworth Community Center

The 30+ Division will be held in the Acworth Community Center on Mondays or Wednesdays with start times beginning between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Teams are guaranteed 7 games plus playoffs. Teams are allowed up to 12 players on the roster. The free agent night will be in January with the exact date TBD. The deadline to register is Thursday, February 13 at 12 PM

Date: February 26 – April 30

Time: 6 PM – 10 PM

Cost: $550/team; $70/free agent

Location: Acworth Community Center

The Competitive Division will be held in the Acworth Community Center on Wednesdays with start times beginning between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Teams are guaranteed 7 games plus playoffs. Teams are allowed up to 12 players on the roster. Free agent night will be in January with the exact date TBD. The deadline to register is Thursday, February 13 at 12 PM.

Acworth Adult Flag Football League

Date: March 11 – May 20

Time: 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Cost: $575/team

Location: Acworth Sports Complex Football Fields

The Acworth Flag Football League will be held at the Acworth Sports Complex Football Fields on Tuesdays with start times beginning between 6:30 PM and 9:30 PM. Teams are guaranteed at least 8 games, including the playoffs. Teams are allowed up to 17 players on the roster. Rain make-up dates will take place the following week with either a double header or game on Thursday night. Registration will begin Wednesday, January 1 and end Tuesday, March 4 at 12 PM.

The League at Logan

Date: March 26 – May 21

Time: 6 PM – 9 PM

Cost: $200/team or $50/free agent

Location: Logan Farm Park

The League at Logan is an outdoor grass volleyball league. Teams consist of four (two males, two females) competing across at least 8 weeks of play. Teams will play two matches a night, with two sets per match to determine tournament seeding. Registration will begin on Wednesday, January 1 and end Tuesday, March 18 at 12 PM.

Acworth Spring Pickleball Ladder League

Date: February 25 – March 25

Time: 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM

Cost: $50/player for residents or $60/player for non-residents

Location: Acworth Community Center

The pickleball league will be ladder play competing across 5 total weeks of play. Players will sign up individually and will be grouped with others of similar skill levels to ensure fair and competitive play. Each night, participants will play a minimum of 6 games, rotating partners and opponents to maximize the fun and challenge. At the end of the 5- week season, the player with the best win percentage will be crowned the league champion. In the event of a tie, the player with the highest point differential will be declared the winner. Registration will begin Wednesday, January 1 and end Thursday, February 20 at 12 PM.

Acworth Spring Pickleball Coed League

Date: February 27 – April 3

Time: 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM

Cost: $100/team for residents or $110/team for non-residents

Location: Acworth Community Center

The pickleball league will be team play competing across 6 weeks of play. Players will sign up as a team and will play two matches per night with a guaranteed three sets per match. After the 5-week regular season, the teams will play an end of the season tournament the 6 th and final week of the season. Registration will begin on Wednesday, January 1 and end Thursday, February 20 at 12 PM.

Horizon Yoga

This 6-week class focuses on teaching modified yoga postures and breathing techniques

Valentines Bingo

Do you like playing games? UNO, Skibo, Clue, Phase 10, Operation, The Game of LIFE! We will introduce old and new games to play. A fun time to hang out with friends and play some insanely fun games.

Adaptive Cornhole League

Time: 6:00 PM & 7:00 PM

Date: Thursday, January 16, 23, 30, February 6,13, 20

Cost: $15

Age: 13 and up

Location: Acworth Community Center

Join us for a Cornhole League this winter! Athletes will be paired up with a partner and play a weekly game. We will start with drills to learn the basics and progress into gameplay.

Creative Corner (February)

Cost: $5 per session

Age: 13 and up

Explore your creativity and artistic side, as you create art projects for yourself and others.

Name That Tune

Georgia Aquarium- The aquarium exhibits hundreds of species and thousands of animals across its seven major galleries, all of which reside in more than 11 million US gallons of water.

Location: Departing from the Acworth Community Center

Fernbank Museum- a museum that presents exhibitions and programming about natural history. Fernbank Museum has a number of permanent exhibitions and regularly hosts temporary exhibitions in its expansive facility.
