Taste of Acworth October 12, 2024

The Taste of Acworth 2024 will satisfy your palates, quench your thirst, fulfill your family’s need for music & entertainment!!! You will be able to sample many Acworth restaurants on the beautiful Main Street in downtown Acworth. There will be more than 150 booths featuring local restaurants and businesses from around the greater-Acworth area. There will be an entertainment stage, inflatables, a beer garden, lots of food, and more! Plan to bring your family to experience a true “Taste” of Acworth!

Acworth Halloween JamBOOree October 19, 2024

Come out to Logan Farm Park for a spooky good time! This year’s Halloween fun will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the large field in front of the playground. There will be games, rides, food, music, and lots of fun! Get the whole family dressed up, as there will also be a costume contest for the kids!

Get ready for a spook-tacular time at the Acworth Police Department’s annual Safe-O-Ween event. Bring your elementary-aged children to the Acworth Police Department for an afternoon of Halloween fun and free candy! It's a fantastic opportunity for your little ones to enjoy a safe and enjoyable Halloween experience.

BJ Reece + Ellijay, GA
BJ Reece is a large apple orchard in Ellijay, Ga that has delicious homemade treats, as well as a cidery. Following BJ Reece, we will head to downtown Ellijay for shopping and lunch on your own.

October Day Trip #2: Friday, October 18, 2024
Blue Ridge Scenic Railway
Hop aboard at our depot located in Blue Ridge, GA, and travel to the sister cities of McCaysville, GA / Copperhill, TN. Discover the winding Toccoa river, enjoy the gentle rolling hills of the Appalachian countryside, and the hear the historic background of our small town from our car hosts.

City of Acworth’s Senior Luncheon:
Join us every third Wednesday of the month for the City of Acworth’s Senior Luncheon. Come join us for lunch and Bingo. This program is free to City Residents 55 and up, but you must register to attend. Registration closes 1 week before the luncheon.
Location: Acworth Community Center (4361 Cherokee Street Acworth, GA 30101)
Time: Doors open at 11 am and lunch is served at noon. After lunch, we will have
rounds of bingo with prizes.

Acworth Youth Basketball League
The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department is pleased to announce that registration will begin for the Acworth Youth Basketball League on Monday, August 5 for residents and Monday, August 12 for non-residents! The league will be offered to participants 5- 14 years of age. Registration will end on Monday, October, 14 at 9 AM. Assessments will take place between Wednesday, October 16 and Saturday, October 19. Practices will begin the week of November 4 and games will begin Saturday, December 7. The season will end in the beginning to middle of February. All participants are required to have a birth certificate on file. If you already have a birth certificate on file from a previous season or from another program, you will not need to submit another copy.
Please either email a copy to parksbirthcertificate@acworth.org or bring a copy to our office located at 4361 Cherokee Street, Acworth, GA 30101.
You will not be able to register unless we have a birth certificate on file.
