Six Flags Over Georgia — the Thrill Capital of the South, is preparing for its most vibrant summer ever. Summer break is just around the corner and the park will be open daily, May 24 through July 28, which means now is the perfect time to start planning your summer getaway.
Hurricane Harbor Atlanta – Celebrating 10 Years
Six Flags Over Georgia’s in-park water park is celebrating its 10th anniversary this summer. The water park is the ultimate way to cool off under the hot Georgia sun, featuring thrilling water slides like Bonzai Pipelines and Tsunami Surge, a 2,000-square-foot water playground, and the expansive 38,000-square-foot Calypso Bay Wave Pool. The water park opens for the season on May 25 and will operate Thursdays through Sundays, with additional hours on select holidays, through July 28.
Experience a Kaleidoscope of Color at the NEW Summer Vibes Festival
Get ready for a summer filled with mouth-watering treats, beat-the-heat beverages, vivid art installations and Broadway-caliber live entertainment during the all-new Summer Vibes Festival, coming to Six Flags Over Georgia this June. Summer Vibes is the perfect backdrop for those Six Flags memories with six zones decked out in colorful and mesmerizing décor and immersive installations.
- Six Festival Zones: From the moment guests step into the park, they’ll be immersed in a kaleidoscope of color. Experience specialty art installations and photo opportunities with Under the Sun, Splash of Color, Surfin’ USA, Butterfly Hill, Forgotten Grotto, and Wacky Wavy Way;
- Mouth Watering Treats: Guests can tantalize their taste buds with limited-edition food and beverage creations like refreshing Pina colada funnel cakes, savory Italian flatbread sandwiches, hand twisted pretzels in adventurous flavors like chocolate chip and jalapeno cheddar, ice cold pineapple or strawberry soft serve floats and more;
- Surfin’ USA: The highlight of Summer Vibes is the new Surfin’ USA live show, showcasing a vibrant medley of summer anthems performed by an outstanding cast of singers and dancers. This Broadway-caliber performance, produced exclusively for the Summer Vibes festival, was meticulously crafted by a team of exceptional talent, including a former Broadway choreographer; and
- Even More Live Entertainment: Surfin’ USA is just the beginning of the summer fun entertainment Six Flags has cooked up. Pride Month Celebration
Six Flags Over Georgia is proud to support the LGBTQ+ community during Pride month this June. While in the park, guests will experience Pride themed decorations and photo ops, a medley of Pride anthems incorporated into the new Surfin’ USA live show and the new rainbow LED lightshow, Splash of Color, located in the Georgia arbor. Six Flags Over Georgia is proud to support Lost N Found Youth this summer. The Atlanta-based nonprofit exists to end homelessness for all LGBTQ+ youth providing them with the skills and support needed to live independently. In support, the park will be donating a portion of Pride merchandise proceeds collected in the month of June to Lost N Found Youth. Six Flags Pride merchandise is available to purchase in multiple in-park locations, including Attitudes retail location.
July 4 Fireworks Celebration – Presented by Coca-Cola
Six Flags Over Georgia is gearing up for summer’s biggest event, the July 4 Fireworks Celebration presented by Coca-Cola. From July 3 to 6, enjoy a nightly firework show and a VIP Fireworks Party in Hurricane Harbor. VIP admission includes after-hours access to Hurricane Harbor Atlanta, an all-you-can-eat buffet with summer cookout favorites, and premium fireworks viewing. Georgia Surfer – Opening Later this Summer
Construction has started on Georgia Surfer, a new Ultra Surf coaster that will be opening at Six Flags Over Georgia later this summer. Georgia Surfer will be a first-of-its-kind, industry-revolutionizing attraction featuring the ultimate combination of a roller coaster and a water ride. Riders will launch forward and backward along nearly 590 feet of track, reaching speeds of up to 60 miles per hour, hitting the ride’s 144-foot peak before coasting down into a scenic splash pool. Free-spinning seats ensure no two rides are alike. Six Flags Over Georgia plans to share construction updates throughout the summer on their various social media platforms.
