The Acworth Police Department is excited to announce the recruitment of Public Safety Cadets between the ages of 14-20 years old. This unique opportunity allows young individuals to explore and gain invaluable insights into a career in public safety. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact Cpl. Mistretta at cadets@acworth.org to begin their journey.

As a Cadet with Acworth Public Safety Cadets - Unit 4440, participants will have the chance to develop essential leadership skills while serving in various roles within the unit. The program offers the opportunity to earn ranks and provides hands-on experience in a structured environment.

An important event for aspiring Cadets is the upcoming 3rd annual Police Ambassador Camp, scheduled to take place from September 25-29. This FREE camp is specifically designed for middle school youth and promises an engaging and educational experience. Interested individuals can sign up at the Open House, which will be held in July at their respective schools.

The program operates year-round, with regular meetings every Tuesday from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. During the summer months, additional meetings and training sessions are conducted to optimize learning opportunities while school is out.

The Acworth Public Safety Cadets program aims to build leadership skills and character in each participant, while providing them with the necessary foundations for a successful career in the criminal justice field.

Cadets enrolled in the program will receive comprehensive training encompassing various aspects of public safety, including patrol, crime scene investigation, emergency management, crime intelligence, evidence processing, flag presentation, drill, physical training, and more. The curriculum combines classroom-style learning with hands-on scenarios, allowing Cadets to apply their knowledge in practical settings.

The program also offers a rank structure, giving Cadets the opportunity to earn awards and recognition for their performance and training. Furthermore, Cadets actively participate in community service activities, such as assisting with traffic control, supporting officers during city functions and events, and working closely with community affairs.

To provide a comprehensive overview of the program, a brochure has been attached to this announcement. Prospective Cadets are encouraged to review the material and reach out to the department for any further inquiries.
