Yesterday my husband and I had the opportunity to enjoy a day to ourselves. You know, the days when someone else has your child and you get to explore and have fun? With those being few and far between, and our birthdays both taking place in the next week - we decided to have an adventure!
That's how we ended up at The Fans Strike Back at the Exhibition Hub, Atlanta Art Center in Doraville, GA. While I didn't grow up on Star Wars, my family was all about Star Trek, I decided to give it my all and quiz my husband throughout the entire experience. (You know, showing interest in his interests? 🤣)
We received the VIP Passes and we were off - walking through the exhibits, large and small which included many of the iconic characters and scenes from the movies. I enjoyed the details on the statues and the artistic ability to make them so realistic, while I think Kris' favorite part was checking out the realistic weapons from the series.
While we didn't take our little one with us as she's only three, it was a date day, and she has a very limited attention span, we did see lots of families out enjoying the fandom. Dad and daughter date days seem to abound, but there were also lots of little boys whose lifelong drams to see a life-size Darth Vader were coming true.
If you have a Star Wars fan in your life, this experience might be the perfect gift opportunity for them. Not only is it a fan experience, there are memories to be made... especially if you get the VIP experience (or purchase the add on) of the fun photos and get a set of lightsabers which lead to all the fun fights when you get home. (Okay, if we can ever get them back from the three year old!)
