Do you have family traditions? We all do and they're so special to our families and especially our children.
Why not start a new one this year? Something easy and fun!
I've inherited tons of things from my family, but some of the most special things were from my Grandmother's house. She embordered quilts for each of her grandchildren when we were little and sewed my doll clothes too. What else did she do? She decorated for ALL of the holidays.
When she was young she didn't have the money or opportunity to order from Amazon, so she learned to be thrifty for the things she wanted. Holidays were HUGE for my mom's family, that's why my grandmother had a cool collection of what are now vintage tablecloths. (That and to protect the furniture, but thankfully she wasn't the type with plastic over the couch!)
Now that some of these tablecloths have been passed down to me - I don't want them to just sit in the closet. It's time to make new memories for my family.
So, this year - we're going to start signing the tablecloths. That's right. We're going to 'ruin' them with memories! Each person in attendance will sign the tablecloth and we will use the same one each year.
Friends and family are dear - and who knows, some day my daughter may bring home the next Eric Church and I'll have his signature as an amazing family memory.
