Minions Everywhere!

First movie? Meeting Minions? Perfect

By Stephanie Freeman, Publisher July 20, 2022

Last week was HUGE for my almost three year old.  Why?  There were Minions everywhere!

Since she was small, Scarlett has loved the Minions, as does her Daddy.   He's always laughed at them, in the beginning - she was just mimicking him - now she laughs too!

So, while Mommy was working last week Daddy took her to see Minions: The Rise of Gru.  (Well - most of it, but that's another story.  ) It was her first time to ever see a movie in theatres, and she absolutely loved it.  Popcorn, laughs, and a date with Daddy?  Perfect!

Upon arriving home, she couldn't stop talking about the movie, she even demanded the 'other Minions' on TV.   She then searched all of her toy bins and found her mini Minion figures and continued to play with them all afternoon and for the next two days too. They visited Minnie's Playhouse, JJ's house, and even took a ride in a vintage Barbie Car.   As parents, you know a toddler loves something when their play with it more than 15 minutes.

The next day, what does Mommy see?  An opportunity to Meet the Minions at Sparkles Family Fun Center in Hiram.  How could we not go?  On Saturday morning Scarlett, Gigi, and I headed out for a morning of adventure, and it didn't disappoint!

Seeing all of the littles ones arriving with their bikes, scooters, and smiles was awesome.  After making friends in a short line, Scarlett made a pass through the arcade (her Daddy has an addiction too) then right to the indoor playground.  First thing, she lost her socks - but she didn't mind, she took off and was having a ball.   When the Minions appeared, she was on it!  She decided that she'd had enough of the playground, we were following the Minions!

On the way, she was sidetracked by the arcade once again and decided it was time to roll.  Literally, she took off on her tricycle and we chased/followed her for 30 minutes.  Meanwhile, the line to meet the Minions had shortened and it was time for her to meet them.  After a bit of coaxing (she's still not sure how she feels about characters) she was ready!  Seeing her little smile and wave melted Mommy and Gigi's heart.  What was more?  A huge THANK YOU to the sweet couple who offered to take our group photo.  (Memories are the best!)

We completed our day our with a delicious lunch at Johnny's Pizza, then came home for naps.  It's hard being little - and chasing a little too!

So, the next time you need a smile - make the memories.  They're only little once.
