Imagine Fun for All at The Children's Museum of Atlanta

Hosted Review

By Meg Jollett April 19, 2017

The Children's Museum of Atlanta was the perfect rainy day destination for my family this past spring break.  It's been a couple of years since I've taken my 6 year old to the museum and so much has changed.  Our last visit was pre-renovation.  I was amazed at the updates they've made.

When I made the decision to visit, I was slightly concerned that my oldest wouldn't be as entertained by the museum as he used to be.  But with the baby, I needed to go somewhere stroller friendly.  So, off we went.  I was pleasantly surprised when we entered and saw the brand new "Gateway to the World" exhibit.   My big kid made a beeline for the Gateway, climbed up and into the enormous climber and played for hours.  He came out a few times to shoot foam rockets at planets, to learn about science in the upstairs Step Up to Science Bar and to play in the cafe.  But the majority of his time was spent turning the earth and climbing to the top of the world.

Meanwhile, I was able to entertain the baby in several different toddler areas set up for the little ones.

If it's been a while since you've visited this super fun place, you should definitely make plans to visit soon.  With rotating exhibits, there is always something new to see.  The current exhibit, "From Here to There" will remain at the museum through May.

The museum also offers Sensory Friendly Saturdays, Home School Days and Target Free Second Tuesdays among other programs.

The Children's Museum of Atlanta is located at 275 Centennial Olympic Park Dr NW, Atlanta, GA 30313.
