Taste Test the World at the World of Coca-Cola

Hosted Review

By Meg Jollett April 11, 2017

My son has been begging me to go to the World of Coca-Cola for months.  It all started when he saw a "Youtuber" video showing visitors trying a hundred different samples of Coca-Cola.  He made it his mission to do the same.   Unfortunately, we ran out of time during winter break.  He was really disappointed. Much more disappointed than I'd anticipated.  I'd opted to go to a trampoline park with friends instead. I didn't really understand what the big deal was.  I figured we could go to the grocery store and "try" cokes if we wanted to.  But apparently that wasn't going to cut it.

So when spring break rolled around,  I made sure we had unbreakable plans to visit the World of Coca-Cola.  And I'm so glad we did.  I had no idea how much there was to do there!

From the moment we entered, my son was on cloud 9.  You see, we will occasionally let him have a Sprite, but never any drinks with caffeine. So this was a big deal.  He walked right up to the "Coke Bar" and ordered his complimentary Coca-Cola while we waited to be let inside this magical caffeinated building.  When the doors opened, we were led to the Loft where a very funny and engaging tour guide named Eugene, told us all about Coca-Cola, the past, the secrecy, the formula and more before leading us into the theatre to watch a brief (6 minutes, I believe) "Moments of Happiness" video.  After the video, we were left to our own devices to go explore the World of Coca-Cola.

First we found the Vault, containing the secret recipe to Coke.  Inside the Vault exhibit, we loved playing with the Virtual Taste Maker, turning the dials to create our own flavor.  The Bubble-izer was another fun interactive photo experience where we got to see ourselves transformed into bubble form!

Then, we traveled through the Milestones of Refreshment gallery where we learned more about the history of Coca-Cola before heading over to the Bottle Works to see how the magic of bottling happens.

We were running out of time, so we headed straight to the important part.  The part, that my little Mac had been waiting for for months.  It was finally time for Taste It.  And taste, we did!  See the video below to experience Taste It with us!

His favorite was "Delaware Punch," a grape flavored soda from Honduras.  We can't wait to return to the World of Coca-Cola one day soon to see the exhibits we missed!  And of course, to taste the world once again.

I was provided with tickets in order to facilitate this review.  Any and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
