REVIEW: My Baby's Heartbeat Bear

By Meg Jollett February 25, 2016
I was so excited to let my little guy come with my to my 20 week appointment where he would meet his baby brother via the ultrasound.  I knew it would be a special moment, but I didn't realize just how touching it would be.  He held my hand, he rubbed my belly and when he heard that heartbeat, the baby really came alive in his eyes.  I had a planned a special surprise in anticipation of this day.

I had brought something special with me, a My Baby's Heartbeat Bear, or in our case, a My Baby's Heartbeat Bunny.  These special stuffed animals record your baby's heartbeat so that you can keep this memory forever.

The kit comes with a stuffed animal (there are 16 to choose from) and a small "heart" recorder.  You record on the recorder and then insert the recorder into the velcro slot in the back of the animal.  Hug the animal and you can hear your baby's heartbeat.

So, as we waited for the ultrasound tech to prepare, I pulled out the tiny heart and told my first baby about the plan.  We were going to record the heartbeat so that he could keep his brother close and listen to his tiny heartbeat anytime.

He was so excited to participate and to record this special memory.  After we were finished, he kept the tiny heart next to his ear and just kept playing it and playing it.  And when we got home, we put the heart in the bunny and he hugged it to hear his baby brother's heartbeat again.

I will never forget this day.  And thanks to My Baby's Heartbeat Bear, I, or we actually, have a permanent memory to treasure.  I'm excited also, to one day let my baby hear what he sounded like when he was still in my belly.

A My Baby's Heartbeat Bear would make an amazing shower gift for a mom to be!  The bears (or other animals) retail for $35 and are available at many 3D and 4D ultrasound studios or you can purchase one online HERE.

I was provided with a My Baby's Heartbeat Bear sample in order to facilitate this review.  Any and all opinions and thoughts are my own.
